About us

Bookmamas is a new & used bookstore located in the historic Irvington district of Indianapolis, Indiana.  We are just south of Washington Street, also know as U.S. 40 (The National Road), near the intersection with Ritter Avenue.  We offer a variety of books and book-related items with a special interest in Indiana authors and subjects.   Our store is a shared space with Irvington Vinyl, a vintage and new record shop which offers an amazingly eclectic variety of vinyl, CDs and cassette tapes. In this way we are able to host both book signings and special book events as well as hosting significant record releases and the like.

Within our shopping district are a number of independent local businesses including award-winning restaurants and notable gift shops, clothing merchants, hair salons, guitar shops and music venues.  This gives our customers the opportunity to support local business and enjoy a well-rounded experience in our Irvington neighborhood.
